How do I access RCEMLearning? Become an RCEM member
You can contact the membership team or complete the membership registration form to apply – https://rcem.ac.uk/membership/
How do I change my password?
If you still have access to your account, you can update your password via the RCEM portal.
If you’re locked out:
Membership account: [email protected]
Induction accounts: [email protected]
I can log in, but the site is blank
This usually means something needs updating on your account.
Drop us an email at [email protected] and we’ll sort it.
I’ve paid but haven’t received login details
Occasionally, applications can take a little longer to process.
The best thing to do is contact the membership team so they can check the status for you. [email protected]
How do I access my CPD Diary?
You can access your CPD Diary from the drop-down menu.
You’ll be prompted to log in using either your RCEMLearning or RCEM account details.![]()
How do I add a new CPD event?
On your CPD diary, scroll down the page a little past your yearly summary of CPD hours, and you will then be able to see and click on ‘New Event’
CPD Report: What’s the difference between Activity Record and Activity Summary?
Activity Record – A full log of everything, RCEMLearning activity and any external CPD entries
Activity Summary – A high-level summary of external CPD only
How is my learning recorded?
Once you successfully complete a module, your activity is automatically added to your CPD Diary along with a certificate.
How do I download my certificate?
Certificates are available directly within your CPD Diary once you’ve passed the module.
Why hasn’t my certificate appeared?
In most cases, this is because the required pass mark hasn’t been reached.
If you believe you have passed but nothing has appeared, email [email protected], and we’ll check it.
Why isn’t my activity showing in my ePortfolio (RISR)?
For anything related to your ePortfolio, please contact [email protected]
All RCEMLearning content is developed by clinicians and reviewed by the emergency medicine community.
Before publication, content is reviewed by our Editorial Executive, and it is regularly revisited by our Editorial Review Board to ensure it remains up to date and clinically relevant.

Which content requires membership?
To access exam-focused content and CPD functionality, you’ll need to be an RCEM member:
Learning Sessions
SAQs and SBAs
FRCEM resources
CPD Diary
You’ll see an icon on the platform indicating member-only content.
What are the pass marks for modules?
Learning Sessions → 80%
SBA → 60%
Curriculum Cup → 60%
EM Quiz → 80%
Clinical Cases → 50%
SAQs → no pass mark required
You need to meet or exceed the pass mark for a certificate to be generated.
I want to publish content—where do I start?
If you’ve got an idea, head to our Contribute page read the submission guidance, which is there to help you complete and submit the content submission form.
I submitted something but haven’t heard back
We receive a high volume of submissions, and each one is reviewed carefully.
We’ll be in touch once your submission has been assessed—thank you for your patience.
What are Writing Days?
Writing Days are face-to-face or virtual sessions where we support participants in developing RCEMLearning content, such as Clinical Cases and SBAs.
Where and when are they held?
The face-to-face writing days take place at Octavia House in London and run a few times throughout the year. We also have Virtual writing days, that are hosted online.
What is the Induction Programme?
It’s a structured set of modules designed to support clinicians who are new to Emergency Medicine or returning after time away.
Who is it for?
It’s designed for hospital departments, with a nominated supervisor managing access and tracking progress.
My hospital isn’t registered—what can I access?
You can still access a free, read-only version of the content, this doesn’t include quizzes or certificates.
How do I register for Induction?
We use a single registration form for both supervisors and inductees.

How do I log in once registered?
Once your account is set up, you’ll receive login details via email.
To access:
Go to RCEMLearning
Click Log in
Enter your details
Go to Exams → RCEM Induction
Can I track my progress?
Yes—progress is recorded when you complete module quizzes. You can view this in your CPD Diary and add reflections. Supervisors can also track progress for their inductees.
I can’t access Learning Sessions or SBAs
Induction accounts provide limited access. Full exam content is only available to RCEM members.
