Infiltrating Local Anaesthesia
Infiltrate local anaesthesia.
The key points in the procedure are:
- Anaesthetise the skin
- Aspirate air or blood
- Anaesthetise pleura and chest wall
- Maximum 3 mg/kg 1% lignocaine
Pitfall
Stop if you cannot aspirate air, fluid or blood and reconsider your clinical diagnosis.
