Context

Cranial nerve (CN) injuries may arise as a result of trauma or disease. Any of the 12 cranial nerves may be affected either alone or in combination.

This session will look at CN I to VI in turn, and review:

  • The structures each nerve supplies
  • Signs of injury to the cranial nerve
  • How to test the cranial nerve
  • Traumatic causes of injury
  • Medical causes of injury
  • Situations in which cranial nerves are commonly injured together
