A 32-year-old lady, 27 weeks pregnant presents with right upper quadrant (RUQ) pain for two days, that is sudden severe and intermittent. This is associated with nausea and vomiting. There is no fever, no bowel or bladder symptoms.
On examination:
Pulse 98, BP 130/60mmHg, RR 17/min and spO2 99
Abdominal examination – soft, tender in the RUQ, no guarding/rigidity, with normal bowel sounds. Fundal height approximate 25cms from pubis.
Bloods are awaited.
You decide to do a focussed Gallbladder scan.

- GB is pear shaped cystic structure noted in the RUQ with normal GB wall being <3mm in diameter.
