A 21-year-old female university student is presenting to the Emergency Department following unprotected sexual intercourse 5 days ago (about 125 hours ago). She has no past medical history and does not take hormonal contraception. She says that she had 3 casual partners in the last 12 months and used barrier contraception with all except the last one. She has no obstetric history and has regular 28 day cycles. Her periods usually last for 7 days. Her last menstrual period started 15 days ago.
She is worried that she will become pregnant and asks for a morning after pill.
