A 30-year-old professional martial artist sustained a direct blow to the left side of his face during training. He suffered no loss of consciousness.
On examination he has a GCS of 15/15, with no focal neurological deficit. He is noted to be tender over his left maxilla and complains of double vision on upward gaze. He has normal visual acuity in both eyes, and no apparent injury to the cornea or globe.
Facial view plain radiographs have been obtained.
