An 80-year-old woman sustains an eyelid laceration in a road traffic accident. She reports hitting her head and eye on the headrest when the car braked suddenly.
On examination, there is avulsion of the left lower eyelid with significant bleeding. You are not able to assess the globe due to the bleeding obscuring examination.
