You are in Resus and the red phone rings. Your local HEMS team are bringing a 45-year-old gentleman who has been assaulted with multiple blows in a rural pub far away from your centre. They suspect he has both blunt and penetrating injuries involving all parts of his body; particularly his thoracic region. You wonder what mode of imaging to immediately consider on arrival to rule out life threatening chest injuries.
