What procedural sedation issues should you consider in this case?
You elect to provide sedation using propofol and fentanyl. After the first bolus of 50mg propofol, he is consciously sedated but clearly grimacing on attempting to move his shoulder.
What should you do?
After a total of 150mg propofol he is sufficiently relaxed and relocation is successful. Following reduction, he immediately becomes apnoeic, though his oxygen saturations remain 100%.
