Investigation
- Unexplained tachycardia may be a clue. Also look for atrial and ventricular ectopics.
- Consider bedside echocardiogram.
- Consider use of troponin for evidence of myocardial injury [2]
- Persistent hypotension with no clear haemorrhage is also suspicious for myocardial injury (once spinal and obstructive causes are ruled out).
