There is no direct ED-based intervention to treat the myocardial contusion itself; treat the following if identified [3]:

  1. Fluid resuscitation with CVC monitoring to guide fluid management.
  2. Cardiac monitoring, as arrhythmias are common in myocardial injury.
  3. Arterial line and blood gas monitoring to ensure hypoxaemia or disturbances in acid-base balance are addressed, as these can also precipitate arrhythmias.
  4. Treat any arrhythmias expectantly as per ALS guidelines.
