Professor Body works as a professor in emergency medicine at the University of Manchester and a consultant in emergency medicine at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, where he is also the Group Director of Research & Innovation.
He leads Integrated Academic Training for Emergency Medicine in Manchester, one of the largest clinical academic training schemes in the country. Professor Body has research interests in cardiac biomarkers, clinical prediction models, diagnostic test accuracy studies, clinical trials, decision analysis and the evaluation of new medical technology.
Professor Body has supervised three PhDs to completion and is currently supervising six PhDs. Professor Body is the Deputy National Specialty Lead for Trauma & Emergency Care at the NIHR Clinical Research Network and is the Deputy Editor at the Emergency Medicine Journal.
