Submission advice

We advise that your SBA (Single Best Answer) submission is evidence-based, relevant to the UK Emergency Medicine and has a clear learning outcome. The SBA scenario should consist of a short paragraph and may include a set of observations, together providing all the information required to answer the three SBAs that follow. There should be a clear explanation of why the best answer is best, plus sufficient additional information to cover everything an EM physician needs to know on the topic. References must be made to relevant sources. If you use any images, please provide the source or patient consent. You can check out all our SBAs here.

Explain why the correct answer is correct AND why the remaining answer options are less correct.
This can be as long as you like but should cover the key aspects of the topic that are relevant to Emergency Medicine. It will form the core knowledge that you would like the learner to take from this SBA module. If you wish, you can break it down into subheadings (eg, presentation, investigations, management), and you can include images or infographics if needed. Please reference the additional information to standard guidance if there is any for your topic, eg RCEM, NICE, BTS etc, or to good quality open access websites, eg Radiopaedia, Dermnet, Life in the Fast Lane, etc.
Please include 3-4 KLPs in bullet points

References to relevant literature and guidelines must be provided in Vancouver style to be eligible for publication. E.g. 1. Cadogan D. Atrioventricular Nodal Reentrant Tachycardia (AVNRT) Life in the Fast Lane. 2019 [Cited 5 March 2023]. Please make sure all references and guidelines are open access where possible and include URLs.
